Keter Store It Out Midi vs Pro: Which Fits Your Mower and Garden Tools?

A mower store needs to do more than hold the mower with its doors shut. You want to wheel it out without emptying the whole box, leave room for the collector and still reach the smaller tools.

I’ve assembled both the Keter Midi and Pro. The Midi fitted a tighter space, although its flexible panels needed patience during assembly. The Pro gave me easier access to more equipment, with its larger panels easier to align with help. I’d choose by laying out the gear you actually use, then rehearsing how it will come out.

I’ll take you through the useful measurements, including the doorway that capacity figures can’t tell you about. The dimensions below apply to manufacturer models Midi 17210427 and Pro 256624. Similar names can cover different versions, so match the model number before ordering. These Midi and Pro links are Amazon searches; check the seller’s listing against the exact references.

What the Pro’s extra space really gives you

Those extra centimetres matter most when a folded handle or wheel stops a mower sitting squarely. The larger Pro also needs enough space outside for its doors and lid. A store that blocks the path every mowing day soon feels smaller than its litre rating suggests.

The Pro is 10cm wider and 15cm deeper internally in this comparison. The floor areas work out at approximately 0.74m² for the Midi and 1.00m² for the Pro: about 35% more floor space. That can be useful when a folded mower needs to sit beside another bulky item.

It does not guarantee two particular items will fit together. A mower with protruding wheels or a folded handle can occupy an awkward shape, and you still need to remove it without first unloading everything else. Draw the stored items’ outlines on paper or mark the footprint on the ground before ordering.

Internal height differs much less than the floor footprint. If your main problem is a tall object, the larger capacity figure may not solve it.

How to check whether your mower fits

Mark the internal floor on the ground, set out your folded mower and collector, and leave frequently used tools nearest the opening. Then walk the job through: open the doors, bring the mower out, turn it towards the lawn and see what you have to move. Do this before a large flat-pack arrives. Finally, confirm the clear doorway for the exact model; the internal floor width alone cannot answer that question.

  1. Fold it as you will store it. Measure overall width, depth and height, including wheels, handles and protrusions. Remove the catcher only if you intend to store it separately.
  2. Check the doorway. Ask the seller for the clear opening of the exact model. Internal width is not proof of doorway width.
  3. Check the interior. Allow practical clearance around the equipment, not a mathematically exact squeeze.
  4. Check the route. Consider turning space, threshold and the position of doors when open.
  5. Check the base and lid. Allow outside space for the enclosure and lid movement; do not order from closed-box dimensions alone. See our garden storage base guide before preparing the site.

When we would shortlist the Midi

The Midi is worth considering where the available garden footprint is tight and your equipment passes the measurements. It may be enough for a compact folded mower with a modest selection of smaller tools, but “compact mower” is not a standard size. Measure your machine.

If the mower uses nearly the entire internal depth, think carefully about where the catcher, watering can and hand tools will go. The lower purchase cost is less attractive if you quickly need a second storage unit.

When we would shortlist the Pro

The Pro’s extra depth is the clearest reason to move up. It gives more scope to arrange bulky items and retrieve them, while the assisted lid may be helpful for repeated top access. Check that the advertised listing matches the Pro specification you need.

Keter’s UK page currently contains two external-height figures, 123cm and 125cm. Ask the retailer to confirm the exact unit and allow additional clearance for opening the lid. We would not buy for a tight overhead space on either figure alone.

Weather resistance and security: set realistic expectations

These units are garden storage, not substitutes for a secure building. Inspect the base requirements, locking arrangement and current warranty conditions. Do not assume that “lockable” means a lock is supplied or that the enclosure gives high-security protection for valuable tools.

Store equipment in accordance with its own manual, and do not put hot machinery into an enclosure. Keep battery charging and fuel storage decisions separate from whether a mower physically fits. Weather resistance also does not remove the need to dry damp accessories before long-term storage.

Can I add a shelf?

Check the exact model’s supports, shelf dimensions and load guidance before buying materials. Do not assume a shelf is included. A shelf positioned over the mower can also reduce the usable clearance you measured.

What if neither fits?

Compare a larger shed or another storage format rather than forcing an unsuitable mower into a box. For smaller accessories and cushion storage, our garden storage box guide covers a different set of options.
